Abstract Art

Erhard Friedrich is a self-taught, life-long and dedicated artist.  Born in 1956 in Germany, he currently lives between Germany and France.  He has exhibited around the world, from Munich to San Francisco.

Nuances of colours surround his paintings in an aura of secrecy and spiritual mysticism and his images emerge from the deep unconscious. 

He uses radical techniques to create various erosive effects, for example taking paintings into the shower to simulate rain, or washing with turpentine or even physical friction.  Part of his artwork is this natural "ageing" that softens his images and gives a mysterious historical feeling to them.
